Sardi's Pollo A La Brasa Reviews
This is my favorite pollo a la brasa company. I first tried their food in 2013 in Laurel and was immediately addicted. I was so sad when I moved from MD to VA because VA didn't have any Sardi's. So imagine my delight when I found out Sardi's FINALLY came to VA!! In Falls Church (this location) and most recently, in Alexandria! After about three years of not having it, I wondered if Sardi's would still be as good as I remembered it. The answer is YES! I just love, love, love their chicken, yuca, plátanos, and yellow sauce!! My go-to order is quarter dark, yuca, and fried rice/plátanos/greens. I've tried a few other pollo a la brasa places, and they just never came close to my beloved Sardi's. I also like their horchata and cookies that they sell by the counter. Thank you Sardi's for opening up two restaurants in VA!!
I'm so glad that Sardi's finally opened a location just down the road! I can get my delicious Peruvian chicken, yuca fries, and fried plantains! The chicken is beautifully seasoned and roasted over flames. The yuca slices are fried to perfection. Then for dessert, the plantains are caramelized and just so delicious! Perfection. This location is doing so much right! It's WAY better than the location I originally went to when I moved to DC in Capital Heights. Now I don't have to drive/metro all that way to get my Peruvian fix. :)
I love sardis when once i lived in Montgomery village in Maryland! Fast forward to 5 years and living in Virginia today , i am glad they finally open a location in Virginia and it's only 15 mins away from my house!! I never had the chance to try anything else on their menu besides their chicken and sides of rice, plantains, veggies and i must say it tastes better than i remember! The service at this location is great, and clean been there about 3 times already since it's been open. Next time will pick something else off the menu !!
Sardi's has finally opened near Bailey's Crossroads, friends in Maryland have been raving about Sardi's and now they have finally opened in my hood. I stopped by during their soft opening and was rewarded with a delicious meal. The rotisserie chicken was perfectly cooked, moist with crispy skin and delicious flavor of herbs and spices. When you add salsa verde to the chicken, it was taken to another level. Sardi's has a long list of sides to choose from, I had green beans and black beans. The sides were very good it was nice to go to a Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken place and have delicious sides other than yucca, fries, rice, salad and beans to choose from. Even during the soft opening, service and execution were first rate with no complaints from my full belly.
I'm an El Pollo Rico girl so when people said this place was better, I had to find out! The chicken was great I will not lie. Anyone who has never had Peruvian chicken will be blown away by this place. But is it better than El Pollo Rico? I can't say it is. The skin of the chicken is missing a certain "grit" in flavor which El Pollo Rico has. Maybe the oven needs more years of charbroiled flavor, but there's a distinct flavor to the skin I'm looking for which Sardi's doesn't have. What actually took me by surprise are Sardi's sides! CRISPIEST yucca I've had anywhere!!!! Their fried rice was nice and moist too. Verdict: Go to El Pollo Rico for the chicken then go to Sardi's for the sides. Perfect meal!
